Adult Ballet Classes Harwich

Ballet

Graceful, expressive and timeless, Ballet is one of the most rewarding forms of dance. At Freedom Studios, our Ballet classes provide a welcoming environment where you can develop strength, flexibility, balance and confidence while learning beautiful techniques and movements.

Each class begins with a gentle warm-up and traditional barre exercises to build strength, posture and technique. You'll then move into centre work, learning elegant combinations that develop coordination, musicality and confidence. Ending the class with a Ballet/Contemporary style routine that is worked on and progresses through the weeks. Our Ballet classes are taught by highly trained ex professional dancers that will make everyone feel welcome.

Frequently asked
questions about Ballet

Do I need any previous ballet experience?

No. Our Ballet classes welcome complete beginners as well as those with previous dance experience. Exercises are taught at a pace that's suitable for the class.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, fitted clothing that allows you to move freely is ideal. Ballet shoes are recommended, but if you're attending your first class, speak to us beforehand for advice on suitable footwear.

We have a collaboration with TLC on Harwich High Street where all our clients receive 10% discount on all their dance shoes.

Am I too old to start Ballet?

Not at all. Ballet can be enjoyed at any age, and many adults discover a love for dance later in life.

Will Ballet improve my fitness?

Yes. Ballet strengthens muscles, improves flexibility, enhances balance and coordination, and increases overall body awareness while providing an enjoyable full-body workout.

Do I need to be flexible?

No. Flexibility develops naturally over time through regular practice, and our classes include exercises designed to help improve your range of movement safely.
